Nowadays, there is this widespread use of technology and the internet. So there would be no surprise that relationships develop due to the almost frequent contact people have with their friends in social networking sites such as Facebook.
Facebook, as most teenagers and young adults see it, is the basis for what is real and what isn't real. If someone claims that they are in a relationship with a specific person but then that said person's name isn't in their Facebook relationship status, then that isn't real. It is just sad that the kids of today have a twisted idea of what is supposedly real or not.
Talking about Facebook, there are most likely around a million users who go online every single day. Out of the million users, one person would probably average around two to three hundred friends, right? And many of his friends' friends are scattered around the globe. Even with the absence of a face to face interaction, using Facebook is enough to make two people fall in love with each other.
Take one of those common friends you have and say, you communicate daily with that person. Don't you think you are going to eventually develop feelings for each other? Feelings could basically mean anything, ranging from love to hate and everything in between. Bottom line is, these are going to be a foundation of a relationship, whether it be good or bad.
It's not fresh news to hear about two people in different countries fall in love via the very famous social networking site called Facebook these days. More often than not, it's something that we should expect to keep happening. This is not a fad, trust me. It's a way of life. What with the popularity of the site (and it just keeps on growing everyday), long distance relationships are going to be a little too common now.
Long distance relationships (also known more famously as Facebook Love) will prove to be a challenge. But with the ever growing development in technology, these distance relationships are going to be a piece of cake. It's going to take patience, perseverance, tons of long distance relationship advice and trust from both parties for this to work out.
If you think you can't do it, think again. Think about how overseas workers and their husbands or wives lasted years being in their situation. They have been successful, so why can't you? Be positive!
When it comes to [http://www.longdistancerelationshipsadvice.net]long distance relationships, technology is going to be your best friend. As far as [http://www.longdistancerelationshipsadvice.net]long distance relationship advice are concerned, communication is important. The fate of your relationship lies in at your fingertips.

Calming Your Nerves In Long Distance Relationships
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Lynly_Pioc]Lynly Pioc
You know that feeling you get when on the verge of going down a loop on a roller coaster ride, that fuzzy feeling in your stomach when you feel scared? Although it may seem scary at first, it makes you feel good at the same time. That is how it feels like to be in a long distance relationship.
Life is usually compared to a roller coaster ride, with all its ups and downs and their effects on a person. Relationships may specifically be compared to this very same ride, too. But to make people see things from a different point of view, let us take the feeling of being in a roller coaster ride and compare it to the feeling of being in a distance relationship.
When you are in a long distance relationship, you are basically blind to the whereabouts of your significant other, unless they either tell you where they are or you become a stalker and track them down every single day (which is going to be weird, by the way). Basically, this relationship all boils down to being true to your loved one and trusting them to do the same with you. These things, though, are difficult to do but are so easy to say.
If you are one of those in relationships such as this one, then you for one would know how it feels like to doubt your partner when in all reality you don't want to do such. For instance, when they say they are at a party and they hang out with friends, it cannot be helped that there will be bouts of jealousy. This intensifies especially when you find out that they hang out with those of the opposite sex. This is just going to drive you insane. How do you control your nerves then?
One thing you have to do would be to find a distraction, but not a replacement. There's a big difference between a distraction and a replacement. When we say distraction, it is someone or something that could make us get our minds off missing the significant other or getting jealous with our significant others' group of friends. When we talk about a replacement, it refers to someone or something that we choose in place of the previous someone or something we had.
We believe that jealousy can be helped, and that we can always calm our nerves. However, someone once told me that it isn't that easy. At one point or another, you are going to get a little jealous which will then lead to your nerves acting on. Remember, just look for a distraction and keep your cool. Nothing good comes out of being a hothead.
Jealousy is a relationship killer, not only in [http://www.longdistancerelationshipsadvice.net/long-distance-love]long distance relationships but in relationships in general. Help make your relationship work with [http://www.longdistancerelationshipsadvice.net]long distance relationship advice.

A Love So Far
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Mark_Cheruvi_Sambalilo_Morales]Mark Cheruvi Sambalilo Morales
Some people don't believe in having a long distance relationships but others do.
For some it's all about "trust" that keeps them connected.
Thus, is "trust" should be their basis aside from "love".
For me, what's the difference? Some relationships still fell apart because of this "trust" although they're together, how much more those long distance relationship.
"Unfaithful" the word that others hated most in their relationships.
Why is this happen? Whose fault is it?
Is it because of sudden changes or realizing that you were not meant to be together forever?
The sad truth is that no one can ever sure of forever love whether it is long or short distance relationship.
For some, it's so easy to say that trust can't be broken by a simple means that for them this word is so strong that it is one of the four pillars of a relationship.
Do they know what's the real meaning of "trust" and they just put it in their so called relationship?
Really, this word is so strong that truly it is one of the four pillars of a relationship but it can be weaken by other pillars if it is not strong enough too.
"Responsibility, communication, trust and love" these are the four words that should characterized a relationship, these are the four pillars of a relationship.
Thus, if this will be the foundation of your relationship may it be long or short distance relationship, it will be fine and I'm sure it's going to last.
Have faith in your partner and ask God for guidance.
It will be a long journey so hold on tight and keep it steady, for having a long distance relationship is like an antique item.
It worth more as time passes by depending on how you will take care of it.
Its fragility makes it prone to any cause of breakage.
But I'm not saying that you should hold on to it too tightly, like keeping or putting it into a box.
That's not the way on how you have to handle a relationship.
It will need a pair of wings and let it fly, exploring the world together with your partner and make it one of the happiest time of your life.
Life is not that long that you should keep on planning and later doing it.
Making every moments worth sharing is the most precious time worth saving.
That's one way of keeping a true relationship.
May it long or short distance.
It's going to last.....forever.
And when you grow old, looking back at those memories. Thinking of all the things that came into your life.
All those moments you've shared together.
With that you'll really feel happy and proud.
"Experience is the best teacher"
Every mistakes and risks you take make you a better person, learn from it.
Don't give up when you still have something to give.

If your boyfriend is away and you don't want him to forget you, here are some unique gifts for him that will keep you fresh in his memory!
If your boyfriend collects pens, a branded pen may just be the perfect gift or maybe a pair of locket cuff links. With these links you could have both your photographs put in it, so that you would not miss each other.
A Greek wrist watch is also a superb gift to give him. If he is a guy who likes to change his watch like changing his clothes, this will be the perfect gift.
A solar gadget charger is another useful gift to give your boyfriend. If he travels a lot he would really appreciate it. He would definitely need a charger for all his gadgets like his portable computer, cell phone and iPod.
If your boyfriend is an environmentalist and believes in using Eco-Friendly products, some Gaiam small flip-flop door mats will make him happy, as they are completely recyclable. They are Bio-Degradable and cause less damage. They are available in bright colors. They are light weight as well as have a soft cushion feel.
You could also give him a custom pillow which is made from Eco-Felt. It is made from 100% recycled plastic. It has a lovely design that would bring sweet dreams of you!
It is understandable when your boyfriend lives far away and is definitely being missed. You could buy him a photo frame made of polished wood and put your recent photograph in it. He is also going through the same, and when you send him this he will be delighted!

A lovely set of track pants could be a good idea. You can choose a color which he likes and he will definitely love it. When he plays his favorite sport he might be asked by his friends. He will tell them with pride that his girl bought it for him.
There are many gifts you can send him when you miss having him near. You are unable to share this feeling with your friends. Make yourself feel better by sending him handmade cards on how you miss him. This will show him that you still remember him and you care.

The Long Distance Relationship Process
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Lynly_Pioc]Lynly Pioc
We all know that long distance relationships do not come easily to everyone. This is one of those things that is not fit for everyone. Being in a relationship is not the problem, it's making it work even with the distance separating both of you.
Long distance relationships, according to most people, are more or less short lived. True, there have been a number of relationships that didn't turn out well in the end but that's just looking at one side of the coin. If you just take a minute to look around you, you will notice that 4 out of 10 people will say that they are indeed engaging in a long distance relationship. However, to make such a distance work for you and your partner, you both have to follow a long process.
First of all, you and your partner should start with yourselves. Take the time to assess whether or not you are both ready to take on such a relationship. See if you guys can withstand the distance, or are willing to go that extra mile. Also, take into consideration if you are going for a short or long term relationship.
Once you've both figured out that you are willing to be in this kind of relationship, plan things out. This would include how you two are going to go about the relationship. Keep in mind your communication options. It is always good to have a good channel for communication. Without which, any relationship will fail. Also, don't forget about the trips both of you are going to take. At this point, it's going to be an alternate talk of "his or her place".
Next, you guys should think about giving time for the other even when in a busy schedule. Why? As mentioned in the previous paragraph, you should keep your communication options in mind. Communication is one good way of keeping your relationship. It may not always make your relationships happy (because at some point you may be fighting) but a good deal of effort comes a long way, especially to girls. If one of you promised to meet with the other or give him/her a phone call, do it. Don't make them doubt you and your promises.
Lastly, don't expect too much. Expectations are going to be deadly killers. Then again, don't throw away every single one of our expectations. If you have to have expectations, don't let them be too high. Be smart. Be realistic. It doesn't only help you a lot, it also helps save you the price of a heartbreak.
For those people who want to get into a [http://www.longdistancerelationshipsadvice.net/long-distance-love/long-distance-love]long distance relationship, at least take the time to assess things. The Place of Japanese Mail Order Brides in Today's World
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Michael_Manor]Michael Manor
What do you really know about Japanese mail order brides? Is it legal to marry a woman from a place like Japan? These are all VERY important questions to consider...
The mail order brides world is not as complicated as most people think. Unfortunately, this term "mail order bride" causes lots of confusion and upsets certain groups of people. Personally, I wish we could just drop the term altogether. I much prefer the terms "international dating" or "foreign marriages" because what we're really talking about here is two people falling in love and then growing closer together and uniting their love with the sacred bond of marriage.
No borders or political boundaries can change love or the way two people feel about one another. And there's no reason that nationalism should dictate who is allowed to fall in love with whom.
Japan is no exception to this. For centuries, men from all over the word have sought out the affection, love, and tenderness of beautiful Japanese women.
In fact, one of the very first examples of this occurred in Japanese-to-America immigration policy of the early 20th century. This piece of legislation is called "The Gentlemen's Agreement of 1907" and went a long way towards making it easier for American men and Japanese women to build a relationship long-distance.
Since this happened over 100 years ago, you can imagine that things were different. There was no Internet, email, or webcam access so long ago. In fact, they referred to these relationship arrangements as "picture brides" (part of where the whole mail order brides thing comes from).
So Japanese mail order brides are nothing new, really. This has been going on for a long time. But in the same way that "picture brides" doesn't really apply to today's world, the term "mail order bride" doesn't make much sense either.
Today, meeting a woman from Japan with hopes of building a relationship, getting married, and starting a family - this dream is not so unobtainable. It's quite easy, actually - especially thanks to all the new technology we all have at our fingertips.
This brief article is designed to give you a nice overview of the history behind Japanese mail order brides and to help you understand its place in today's world. It's always important to grasp the history behind something because it helps you better understand its role in your own life. Plus, as a man seeking a Japanese woman for love and romance, you begin to see yourself as part of a much larger tradition.

Why Aren't You Controlling The Pace Of Your Relationship?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Christo_Stoll]Christo Stoll
The biggest reason you are not in control of your relationship is because you are too afraid to take the bull by its horns. For men not being in control of the pace of their relationship could spell disaster since many women want men to do all the controlling and take things to the next level and when they do not experience that they opt to break up or leave.
Before you think about how you are going to control the pace you need to think about why you need to do it? Do you often feel that your relationship has a mind of its own and is slipping away in a direction you fear? Do you have this cringe about marriage that is keeping you from moving things up to the next level?
Start With a Discussion
Many couples underestimate the power of a good, serious discussion. The first thing you need to do is to sit down with your girlfriend and ask her what she needs. Ask her if she sees the relationship going anywhere. If you get an answer like she is depressed about the future, or you often hear her say that she does not know what direction your relationship is taking then it's time that you took control. These words are simply asking you to "please take control before it is too late". Now that you know that it is up to you to control your relationship it is time to discover how.
The Levels of Your Relationship
rel=nofollow [http://how-to-talk-with-women.com]How to talk with women you have met for a while? After you have met a girl and have been seeing her for some time now, you probably feel that you cannot live without her, the feeling is mutual but where do you go from here? You can always ask her to move in with you as a next step to your relationship and you can also ask to marry her. In addition some people may want to take smaller baby steps for instance introduce their girlfriend to their parents, colleagues, friends etc. The idea is to keep your relationship moving upwards instead of it just being something which never moves.
Exercise - Taking Things Too Fast May be Disastrous
If you move too fast you can probably scare off your girlfriend, not many women will feel comfortable if a man asks them to marry after just a week of going out. But they will feel comfortable if you introduced them to your parents or your best friend. In order to decide what pace you should move at it is important to observe and understand the signals that a woman is sending you. If you see that a woman is getting bored of the relationship i.e. she does not have time to speak to you a lot, cannot meet as many times as she did, or feels bored whenever you are around, these are hints that she wants things to move along and she wants you to do it.

The biggest reason you are not in control of your relationship is because you are too afraid to take the bull by its horns. For men not being in control of the pace of their relationship could spell disaster since many women want men to do all the controlling and take things to the next level and when they do not experience that they opt to break up or leave.

How to Meet Mexican Mail Order Brides
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Michael_Manor]Michael Manor
Thanks to modern technology, it's now easier than ever before to find a beautiful woman from Mexico and start dating online -- even though you're both in different parts of the world! Pretty exciting, eh?
Well, I thought so too when I figured out some simple ways to meet Mexican women online and build successful dating arrangements with them.
In this article, I'm going to share some of these cool ideas with you on how to meet women from Mexico. Some people call them "mail order brides" because these types of ladies are usually interested in building a long-lasting romantic relationship that eventually turns into marriage.
Yes, it's true!
You can meet a woman online from Mexico, start dating her, and eventually even get married....
Mexico is an exciting place -- from large "metro" areas like Mexico City to the more upscale tourist areas of Cabo and the Baja Peninsula, this geographic region is varied in many ways. Likewise, the women of Mexico are beautiful, intelligent, and culturally compelling for sure.
Mexican women are becoming more and more popular in the "mail order brides" world today because many guys are attracted to their sensual nature -- something that Mexican women tend to get from their cultural background. In Mexico, women are usually more subservient than in other parts of the world (and even more so than in other Latin American countries.)
So let's talk about how you can meet these special ladies.
It's a basic formula...
1) Setup a dating profile on the right sites,
2) Build relationships with the women who attract your attention the most, and finally
3) Going to Mexico to meet her and take it to the next level!
Let's start at the beginning so you can learn how to meet Mexican women...
First, it's important to know which websites to use. There are so many options out there today, it's critical that you learn how to spot the spam/scam sites and filter them out from the real, valuable websites.
Warning sign #1 that you've found something that might be a scam is a website that doesn't let you sign up for free.
You should be able to create a simple dating profile and be able to login into the Mexican brides dating site without paying any money first. Usually, they'll just ask for your name, your email, and a little information about you for your profile.
But absolutely do NOT give up your credit card details until AFTER you've logged in and had a chance to browse around the website.
Next, you'll want to find some ladies that you like and start chatting with them. You can use online chat via the dating site you're on, or you can email them via the same website. This is the part where the website will probably start taking your money to "buy credits" so you can interact with the Mexican women you're trying to meet.
Take your time during this process. You might even purchase credits on the website for "translation services" so you can really get the most out of your communications and make sure you're really igniting a spark!
Since Mexico is so close to the United States, American guys will have a much easier time with this next step.... going to meet your new Mexican love interest.
European and Asian guys looking to meet Mexican women will have to travel farther to reach their ladies, but if you're taking your time and building a real relationship -- it will be a worthwhile investment!
I write about [http://www.mailorderbridereviews.com/why-mexican-mail-order-brides-are-popular/]Mexican mail order brides and many other topics at my [http://www.mailorderbridereviews.com]Mail Order Brides website!

Handling Long Periods of Time Apart From Your Significant Other
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Christa_Sizz]Christa Sizz
In many situations, we can end up apart from our significant other for a long period of time. This situation can be difficult to fathom before the separation, but even harder once you're apart. The separation can be extremely harsh as you've been used to your significant others company for quite a while, and as humans we fear change. We aren't sure what will do with ourselves in the time that we would otherwise spend with the significant other and we fear the flame dieing out in the relationship.
Upon separation you need to actively seek out ways to manage to your time apart so that you don't over stress yourself and cause unnecessary psychological harm. The first thing to do is relax. Remember it is not permanent, and thankfully you are living in time of great electronic communication so your separation will not be as difficult as it was for previous generations.
The worst thing you can do is set around and worry about yourself and your part. Find something to focus your time on. Perhaps you have a new job or have been sent on a temporary job causing this separation. In that case direct all of your energy and focus to the job. Do your job to the max which might be something you haven't done while you were in the company of your significant other. If there has been anything you have wanted to research, now is the time to do it. Use that free time to gain knowledge and become an expert in your chosen area, then publish the content on EzineArticles.com. The internet is a free means of unlimited information, so use your time to maximize yourself, while channeling your energy away from the separation. Perhaps find a new hobby as well. If you're in a new area look for a local activity that you couldn't have done back home. For example skiing if you are now in a cold climate.
Of course you should always meet new people, and develop friendships. Being separated will make it easier to step outside of comfort zone and make friends with people you otherwise may not have met. Meet some like minded people who are also into your new hobby. If meeting people is hard for you go to meetup.com. There are thousands of groups around the world so you are sure to find like minded people where ever you are.
Most importantly keep your relationship alive. Set up a direct communication time with your significant other. Find a time everyday where you can have a Skype video chat. Tell your significant other what you've been researching, show them what you have been doing with your time, and who you have met. A good spouse would do the same as this reassures a secure feeling in both of you.
Of course for many men, and women, the lack of physical connection, or in other words sex, can have a negative impact on the relationship overall, and may make many men tempted to cheat. To avoid this it best to get a sex toy of some sorts or for men, a rel=nofollow [http://www.sensualsizz.com/blog]RealTouch so that you can still get your physical needs to be met. If possible have a Skype chat in private place where the two of you can maintain intimacy via video. While not the same it can go along way in keeping the relationship alive.
Following those tips will get you through your time apart smoother. It's important to get out there and do new things to keep your mind off of the separation. It's just as important to communicate with your partner and maintain the spark in the relationship. All in all, try to avoid focusing too much on the date you get to be together again as this can make it seem further away.

Things You Need To Know About Long Distance Relationships
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Lynly_Pioc]Lynly Pioc
Try putting yourself in the shoes of other people. Think of yourself as someone who is in a long distance relationship. In this situation, you have completely accepted the fact that you are not going to be able to see your loved one every day, anytime you want to. You were once completely okay, but then you find out that your partner seems to limit your communication and doesn't come to visit. What would you do? How would you feel?
Love is wonderful and intoxicating. It makes us do things that we told ourselves we never would do. A person in love is practically considered as an optimistic fool, always looking at the brighter things in life, making other people happy with their contagious smiles. But love is also the most hurtful thing we can ever feel because sometimes, the world just isn't on our side. Yet we have to deal with it. We have to live with it. We must try to make it work. We must accept everything that has to But if it can't be helped, we should also know when to let go.
When we deal with long distance relationships, it's considerably way different than that of any other "normal" relationship. First of all, there is that gaping distance. Second, you get to communicate verbally without the use of the non-verbal cuteness you can muster. And most importantly, it seems like you are having a date with a mechanical device (e.g. your computer or your cell phone), which most of the time is your only source of communication.
Long distance relationships have proven to become a challenge because while two people who are supposed to be in love are separated by the distance, it seems to create a false belief that they are single once again (which is obviously untrue). This is primarily the reason why not many of us are willing to get into these kinds of relationships. If you treasure your relationship, do not give your significant other a reason to doubt you. Instead, make the extra effort to make them feel assured that you have always been true to them in the whole duration you both were apart. Avoid making them feel neglected since this usually leads to a chaotic relationship.
Although distance romances seem to be getting an equal share of problems, overcoming these obstacles can be done. With a little help from the experts (the veterans of long distance relationships, specifically), you are going to hear the refreshing words of encouragement. Sometimes, we just need a little push so we can go and get on with what we are supposed to do. We know what we should do but we need to hear that approval to convince ourselves that what we are going to do is right. [http://www.longdistancerelationshipsadvice.net]Distance romance has never been impossible. People just have to change their views first before they try getting in one, or else it would never work. Long Distance Relationship Advice - The Power Of Vision
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Ricardo_M_Vasquez]Ricardo M Vasquez
I want to give you some long distance relationship advice and talk to you about the power of vision and why it's absolutely necessary if you want to succeed long term. It's simply the way the brain works whether you do it or not.
What a vision is:
Very simply and in English terms: A vision for the purpose of this article is a picture or movie that you hold in your mind's eye about your ideal relationship. In other words, if I were to ask you what your relationship would look like if it was up to you and without limits, what would it be? That is your vision.
Why you need a vision:
You must understand first that the sub-conscious mind doesn't know the difference between an image that is remembered or created. In other words, it accepts pictures or movies as truth regardless if they've happened in the past or not. We all think in pictures. So every time you think something a picture flashes in your mind and you create a neural pathway in the brain. When you repeat that thought the neural pathway in the brain gets thicker and embedded deeper. It gets stronger. Thus, creating a habit of thought. The brain then must create the behavior and attitudes necessary for you to create that picture.
We are always creating pictures in our minds both by choice and suggestion. When we listen to the radio, watch TV, overhear conversations etc. This is whets called inductive reasoning. But what we want to do is use our deductive reasoning skills to create an image we want.
The reason you need vision is simple. Because if you don't have a vision for yourself you will become a part of the vision that someone else has for you. You will become yet another statistic in most cases. You must give your mind clear direction for what you want. All the techniques in the world will not do you any good if you don't have a vision that supports your goals. After all, a vision is just a big goal.
How to create a vision:
The first step is communication. Almost everyone talks about communication when it comes to long distance relationship advice. Very few, if any relate it to vision. You need to talk with your partner and find out what they want out of this relationship. You should find out what they want to contribute, what they want to receive, what feelings they want to experience, what goals they want to accomplish with you. Then the both of you need to write down a paragraph that describes this for each other. The important this is not so much the description but how that makes you feel. You're after the feeling.
Then, I would each create whets called a vision board. Basically you cut out pictures from magazines, Google images, internet pages, books etc. and paste them to a foam board or something like that. These images need to represent what it is you want and induce the feelings.
Then, create a list of at least 10 affirmations or statements that support this vision in the present tense as if it's already real. For example "My relationship is growing stronger each day", "My sex life is incredible and getting better." You get the point.
Finally, every day when you wake up and before you go to sleep, close your eyes and focus on your breathing. You will focus on your breathing until you can feel your heart beating throughout your body. Then you will sit there for at least 5 minutes twice a day minimum. After 5 minutes you will flash the movie of your vision in your mind over and over again. Bring it to life. Add color. Bring it closer to you. Step into it so you're seeing it through your eyes, hearing it with your ears and feeling it as if it's already here. Really feel it! Do this for a few minutes at least. Then ideally in the mirror, while looking at yourself read your affirmation or statement out loud with conviction. Then take a few minutes to stare at your vision board.
I realize this seems odd and it will feel odd at first. But I promise if you keep this up for at least 3 weeks everyday twice a day at a minimum it will become a habit. Then, you'll begin to see your relationship soar. Why? Because that's the way the brain works.
Remember, if you don't have a vision for your relationship you'll fall into someone else's vision for you. The sad part is most people do. Most people float around in the river of life just going wherever it takes them. The truly successful use their paddles and steer in the direction of where they want to go. The paddles are our visions.
This is the best long distance relationship advice one can give in terms of building a solid foundation.
Ricardo Vasquez is the author of the blog http://www.elongdistancerelationshipadvice.com/ where he shares his insights, techniques and no nonsense approach to building, maintaining and sustaining a long distance relationship.

Communicating Well With Your Long Distance Partner
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Lynly_Pioc]Lynly Pioc
Communication, according to Wikipedia, is the activity of conveying meaningful information. Take note of the words conveying, meaningful and information. Notice that it is in bold because these are mostly forgotten by most people when trying to "communicate" with others. Some people are just talking instead of communicating. Talk may be similar to communication but talk is merely defined as employing speech. Therefore, talking is just speaking without meaning or conveying information. If people would tend to just talk than communicate, how do you think we are going to understand each other?
In relationships, it is very important that the couple communicate with each other daily, if possible. Talking helps pass the time but communication helps people identify and solve problems. It's not even a difficult thing to do. But you do have to at least take the time off of your busy schedule to have a seat, grab a cup of coffee or something, and then go over any issues that may come up off the top of your head. It's during these situations wherein you can bring up any topic you would want for discussion.
When we apply the technique of communicating with our loved ones, we allow each other to have a glimpse of how they are, at the same time finding out if you have any problems to settle. Case in point, long distance relationships. In these types of relationships, the couples barely get to see each other daily. The couples here are going to rely more on how they communicate with the other because being apart, physical contact is going to be set to a minimum. So how then are these couples going to be able to do it?
Establish a medium for communication that works for both of you. However this should be done before the other goes out of the country or away. If you guys don't set up an effective channel for communication, there is practically no other way of imparting your views. This may not literally be a very comfortable set up, but since you decided to be in a long distance relationship, you might as well make it work. Effort is needed to make long distance relationships become a success, and before you can achieve success, you have to communicate.
An example of a proper way of communicating would go:
"Hey, how did your day go?"
"It didn't go out so well. My boss got mad at me."
"Why? What happened?"
"This is what happened..."
And the conversation goes on and on.
As for merely talking, it would go this way:
"Hey, how did your day go?"
"It didn't go out so well."
"Why? What happened?"
"It's a long story."
Do you see the difference? Communication leads into a conversation while talking just ends up with the shrugging of the shoulders. If I were asked, I'd rather wear myself out communicating well with my partner than to have to brush things off aside just for the heck of talking.
People think that talking to your [http://www.longdistancerelationshipsadvice.net]long distance partner frequently is enough to get the relationship working. But are you oh so wrong. Long Distance Relationships - Keep It Hot With These Six Sizzling Tips!
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Gregg_Michaelsen]Gregg Michaelsen
Define what you are
Talk about what's to be expected from both of you. Define what you're doing. Just casually dating? Soon to be engaged? Boyfriend girlfriend? Many couples don't define this. Then when there is a break down, feelings get hurt and this is damaging to both.
Can you date other people? Who will move if you decide to end the distance? These difficult decisions need to be worked out ahead of time. This will make for a healthy relationship, trust me.
The more communication the better.
Daily contact is vital
Phone, text or Facebook, it doesn't matter how. If you travel overseas I find Skype to be useful. The important thing is stay connected with your daily lives. This contact does not have to be for hours on end, in fact, keep the pressure off and contact often but in short spurts.
Always have a plan
After seeing each other, immediately book the next get together. This is vital. This gives both of you something exciting to look forward to. Also, If you can do it, surprise each other with a fill in visit.
Try different things
This is huge. Do things other than communicate together. Just talking can get real boring with anyone. Take full advantage of technology. Use the video phone, and web cams, have phone sex, watch a movie together or zoom in on Fido's nostrils.
Use the kids as props. Don't forget the love letters or chocolates. Cards are always great. Communication doesn't have to be long, in fact I keep things short and pithy. Text the days triumphant moment or failure.
Stay Positive
Make sure to stay upbeat. I know there are sad times because of the distance. But try to mask some of the irrelevant sad crap going on in your life. She doesn't need to know about every complaint you had through out one of your lousy days at work.
Remember important dates
Guys, I'm talking to you. Missing her birthday or even your six month dating anniversary gets compounded in a long distance relationship. Use reminders if you have to. In her eyes, there is no excuse other than you don't care!
In conclusion
Keeping a long term relationship hot is simple. Define what the relationship is, stay in daily contact, always have the next get together planned, stay positive and never forget any important dates.

Teens and Long Distance Love
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Lynly_Pioc]Lynly Pioc
In today's world, there are so many ways of keeping in touch with other people who happen to be out of our reach. We have computers and cellphones to name a few. Although these gadgets are widely popular among all the age groups, there is one specific age group who are practically hooked on these gadgets - the teenagers.
If you have not noticed yet, the teenagers are mostly those who are so fond of making use of the internet and cell phones and other gadgets. Whenever you would walk around your neighborhood, you will always see teens holding out their phones or see teens with their eyes glued on their computer screens. It may also be possible that they will be found doing both at the same time. So in light of the heavy use of technology by the teens, it's going to be near impossible to meet different kinds of people from different parts of the world.
Long distance relationships, as we all know it, is a relationship that builds its foundation on trust, patience and loyalty. It takes experience for people to strengthen these values, however there may also be some select few who have these innate virtues. It may not be a big possibility, but teens may rarely belong to the latter.
Teens have been labeled by stereotypes to be generally indifferent to the world around them. More often than not, it's what they care about that matters most to them rather than anything else. So if a teenager falls in love, their world is going to revolve around that one person. This could be dangerous as teenagers are very impulsive beings. They want to get what they want than think about the consequences of such. If someone you know wants to jump into things such as relationships (most especially long distance ones), give them the proper guidance. If you are their senior, parent or guardian, always be there for them. They might take matters into their own hands and sometimes, that's just not a good idea.
Remember, some adults cannot handle long distance relationships. Experience helps people strengthen their emotions which makes them deal with the hardships in life. As for the teens, they need more experience to learn the art of letting go and moving on if they get hurt. Just to be on the safe side, it would be best if you do not advise these teens to get into long distance romances at the moment. But once they are ready, let them.
People need to believe that nothing is impossible. 3 Ways to Keep Your Long Distance Relationship Exciting
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Lynly_Pioc]Lynly Pioc
Let me ask you something, let's say you've been in a relationship for a while now, you guys hang out daily and the like - do you ever get bored being in that very same relationship? Did you ever think that maybe you might want that time off your relationship to go seek for your freedom temporarily?
At some point in the relationship, someone is bound to get bored with it. A suggestion may come off as a joke that maybe you should see some other people or take some time off your relationship. Sometimes two people are going to agree to take the time off, which then would result to a break up. It would be considered lucky if only one of the couples would feel "tired" because there would be someone who would look for a way to make it work.
If short distance relationships could somehow lead to boredom even when they hang out whenever they want to, what then would the future of long distance relationships result to?
Long distance love may be sustained if the couple could find ways to spice up their relationship. One way is to send surprise gifts to your loved one for no reason. A spontaneous guy goes a long way for girls, and vice versa. Surprises are always good, as long as these presents do not contain something that your significant other is afraid of. For guys, a bouquet of flowers and something your girl would like may be a good idea. As for girls, sending your man a gift basket with his favorite wine or drink will be enough to put a smile on his face.
The second option that you guys could take to keep the relationship exciting is to surprise him or her with a trip for two to your favorite destination. Think Hawaii or Italy or France. Or better yet, all three of them if you can afford it! Take some time off your separate lives and be together. Technology may help bridge the gap but there is always something good with the touch of your special someone.
Your third option to keeping your relationship as exciting as you could is to send a photo of you in a sexy outfit, say a lingerie? There's nothing wrong with teasing as long as you're not sending it to the wrong person. Sending these kinds of photos will make your partner look forward to seeing you again. Keep in mind, sexy photos, not nude pics.
There may be various ways that you can think of to keep your relationship interesting, but these are just suggestions. If you've got better ideas, by all means, go on. After all, you know your relationship better than I do. Be creative. Be happy. Take the risk. Fall in love!
A [http://www.longdistancerelationshipsadvice.net]long distance relationship is not impossible to sustain. Falling For Each Other All Over Again (Long Distance Relationships)
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Lynly_Pioc]Lynly Pioc
You know that song by Jason Castro called "Let's Just Fall In Love Again"? It is actually a fantastic song that could be listened to by couples who are in long distance relationships. It may seem crazy to you now, but let me explain myself.
There may be 6 out of 10 people in the world who are in a long distance relationship, either by choice or by chance. A distance relationship that was made by choice are those relationships formed through the internet or from a friend's friend, or simply being in a relationship with someone you haven't met. On the other hand, a distance relationship by chance are those relationships that unexpectedly turned out to become long distance ones because of work or school. Whether you belong to the former or the latter, people are still going to think the same thing - being away from the person you love just wouldn't work.
Don't let these words faze you, though. They're just words if you don't believe in them. The best thing you could do is to go on with your relationship even with the distance.
One way I could think of to achieve such is by making each other fall in love all over again. For example, if you have never met your long distance partner face to face, it's your chance to do what Jason Castro suggests in his song - pretend that you do not know each other. Do exactly as the song says, it's going to be fun. You're going to finally meet each other for the first time, plus you can make your relationship even more exciting.
Since it would be the first time for you guys to meet, make sure that everything is going to be perfect. Bring friends along so they could be with you in this moment of pure bliss. Set your rendezvous at a public place with a positive aura just to set the mood, too. While you're at it, you might also want to play everything romantically. Give it your best shot. It's the only chance you get because after this, you're going to get into a whole new level.
If you really are in love with each other, falling in love all over again is not going to be a problem. You may not even have to exert any effort into it at all. Just be in love. Just be yourself.
Some people just need a little bit of convincing just to get them to agree to be in a [http://www.longdistancerelationshipsadvice.net]long distance relationship. Pros and Cons of Long Distance Relationships
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Petra_E_McDermott]Petra E McDermott
Being in a long distance relationship can be an effective way to ensure both parties have the space they need and never feel the pressure of spending too much time together.
The saying "Familiarity breeds contempt" is not famous for nothing.
Being in a relationship where you see each other day in and day out can be more stressful simply because you get to notice your partners habits a lot quicker than if you were living apart.
You can take your time and slowly reveal yourself to your other half as and when it suits you during your weekly or bi weekly rendezvous which can be exciting because it keeps both parties on their toes.
When you know your partner inside out there are no surprises.
The desire to meet up after work quickly fades and you can easily slip into a boring routine without realising and before you know it someone is usually complaining that you don't do anything as a couple anyone.
As with all relationships long distance relationships do have their problems.
One of the main issues that cause problems within these types of relationship is the distance.
Depending on how far apart you and your partner are and how often you dedicate time to get together distance can become an issue simply because there is no guarantee that the other party isn't playing away.
The thought of this often causes insecurities within the relationship simply because the ability to be there when something unexpectedly good or bad happens is not there.
There are no late night trips to the cinema at the very last minute or grabbing a quick bite to eat after work opportunities.
Everything becomes a part of a schedule and this can lead a partner to believe the other party may be going elsewhere in order to get such attention.
As with all relationships communication is the key for sure.
If you decide to give a long distance relationship a go be prepared for the fact that there are going to be times when you miss your partner so much that you feel like you are going out of your mind.

Long Distance Relationships - Why You Have To Communicate Even When You Are Mad
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Bellaisa_Filippis]Bellaisa Filippis
You think your long distance partner is mad, but you can't get a hold of them to talk about. Your long distance relationship is starting to drive you crazy because you have no clue what your partner is thinking, doing, or feeling. This is why communication is key in long distance relationships.
In long distance relationships you can't just come home and 'tell' how you partner is feeling. You can't look at them and say "Oh boy! He's not feeling good today so I'll just let him be by himself for the day." You don't have the luxury because you can't actually see how he or she is feeling!
Ignoring your partner in long distance relationships is unacceptable. They have no clue whether you are alive, made, or cheating on them. They don't know if you are home or out having the time of your life. They can't see you and they can't quickly come on over just to see what is happening. The line of communication has to stay open between a long distance couple in order to really have a healthy relationship.
How To Communicate When Fighting
It's easy to communicate when everything is going good in the relationship, but once things turn sour it can be easy to ignore your partner and turn off all devices that your relationship communication relies on. This is the wrong thing to do!
If you get into a fight then you are going to have to be mature adults. You can discuss the fact that you need a few days to calm down and let your partner know that you don't want to communicate in that period, but if it's not okay with your partner then you can't just hang up the phone and hit ignore.
If your partner feels that they need to communicate in order to feel better than you may have to come to a compromise of some sort. Maybe you can agree to discuss things after a few hours, or maybe you can agree to wait one day instead of two.
If you leave your partner hanging while they still feel a need to communicate then you risk losing the relationship or turning a healthy relationship into an unhealthy relationship. A partner who can't get a hold of their partner can make up stories in their head that lead to jealousy, anger, and grudges.
You may find that your partner holds it against you for a long time to come or that they can't let go of you ignoring them when they needed to talk to you most. You may cause negative feelings that don't get resolved. And in the end that may cause a permanent breakup.
Long distance relationships are hard enough to keep healthy and happy without the added headache of not being able to get a hold of each other. Don't let your anger turn you into a disappearing act. Remember that communication is necessary if you want your relationship to work.

How to Surprise Your Girlfriend in a Long Distance Relationship
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Lynly_Pioc]Lynly Pioc
Do you think that it's much difficult to surprise a person who is currently miles and miles away from you? Like, you don't actually know where they are at this exact moment but you would like to surprise them? As far as I'm concerned, I don't think it's any different with planning a surprise for someone who is nearby from planning a surprise for someone who is at a distance. On second thought, I think planning a surprise for someone miles away from you is a lot easier because they aren't there, so you basically don't need to think of any distractions.
There are many different ways to surprise your girlfriend even if you are in a long distance relationship. Distance is not a hindrance, you have to remember that. If you look around you, there are tons of options you can choose from. All you need is the will to do it. I know someone willed it enough to give me a gift even if he was several miles away from me.
Guys, surprising your girlfriend isn't going to be such a difficult task if you know what makes her happy. You don't have to go all out on it by spending much and pulling all the stops. A simple message containing the words I Love You will suffice. To girls, it's the thought that actually counts. The gift's contents will only come second. That generalization that every girl wants to get something beautiful and expensive should really be thrown away because girls may seem materialistic but it's a guy's spontaneity that they love. I, for one, would prefer getting a simple and sweet surprise rather than an expected expensive gift.
Since you guy know what your girlfriends like, let me just lay out some suggestions for you. Think of it as a surprise for a girl from a girl's point of view.
Notes and sweet nothings. Sometimes we girls just want to get cute messages of love from our boyfriends. It doesn't have to cost you much but it will greatly fill our hearts with joy. Leave these notes on our work tables, lockers, books or anywhere we can see it.
Flowers and sweets. Nothing beats flowers and sweets, so they say. It's the perfect gesture of admiration and love. Girls have a sweet tooth and they love love love the scent of fresh flowers, too! Surprising your girlfriend with these will surely make them blissful and stay more in love with you. I know it did its charm to me.
Presence as presents. Although notes and sweet nothings or flowers and sweets will recreate that magic feeling one gets when they are with their loved one, your presence will be the cherry on top of every surprise. You being there with your girl is probably going to be the best surprise they can get, especially when you are in a long distance relationship.
Surprises in [http://www.longdistancerelationshipsadvice.net]long distance relationships are going to be fun to plan. You can go about thinking of what to get for your special someone, plus you get the chance of actually making them know how much you care. Remember, distance is never a hindrance if your love is true. Tips for Beginning a Long Distance Relationship
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Lynly_Pioc]Lynly Pioc
You know that general rule where there is always an exception to a rule? Long distance relationships are no exception to that. These relationships are not for everyone because not a lot of us can stand being apart from the other.
Distance, this is just one of the main reasons why people avoid getting into a relationship. This is probably due to the belief that being separated from the person you love will be the start of a very complicated relationship, which will eventually end up at the end of it. However, is it really the general ending of what could have been the start of a happily ever after? No, it doesn't necessarily have to be that way. A story could have multiple endings. We are the authors of our fate, we decide what ending we are going to have.
Getting into a long distance relationship is admittedly going to be much more difficult than those regular short distance ones. Obviously, the couple has to deal with the distance and everything that comes along with it like jealousy, paranoia, doubt, fears and etc. Luckily, long distance couples can now get the 411 on what to do when planning to get into a long distance relationship.
Tip #1. Get to know the other person. It's not going to be a great feeling getting duped by another human being who is definitely just pretending to be someone they're not. Long distance relationships are not bad things, but jumping in before looking at where you're leaping is definitely an act of a fool.
Tip #2. Meet face-to-face. These days, meeting face-to-face doesn't necessarily mean meeting in person. There are a lot of options to choose from in case you just can't be there physically to do the meet ups. You've got Skype and Yahoo! Messenger to name a few.
If you do decide to meet up in person, choose a venue where there are lots of people. Also, choose a place that has proper ventilation where you guys can talk and see each other clearly. Remember, first impressions last and meeting for the first time is going to leave an imprint on a person's mind.
Tip #3. Get to know their friends and family. If it is possible, it would be great to get to know the people who your special someone hangs around with. This way, you are going to prevent jealousy because by then, you would have already known who is who in their life. And getting to know their family would also give you a preview of what kind of person he or she is.
Tip #4. Know who to trust. You just can't please everyone, we all know that. Expect that level of displeasure from people to increase greatly when you plan to get into a long distance relationship. As I said earlier, these kinds of relationships aren't for everyone. There is always going to be those people who would disagree. Naturally, I'd say don't listen to naysayers, but seeing that there are those people who have some sense in them and actually are concerned about you, take the time to listen to what they have to say. If you think they're being unreasonable, by all means, don't listen to them. But if they are just being helpful, think hard.
Good friends are hard to come by. It might be too late to get them back if you thwart them away when they were just there for you in the first place.
Sometimes we think the world of our [http://www.longdistancerelationshipsadvice.net]long distance partners that we tend to forget to let our friends talk some sense into us. Sometimes the best [http://www.longdistancerelationshipsadvice.net/long-distance-relationship-advice/long-distance-relationship-advice]long distance relationship advice come from those people who actually care. It's not that they're no experts in this kind of relationship we no longer have to listen to them, we still have to listen to what they have to say because they don't want us to lose our heads to our hearts. At times our hearts cloud our minds that we don't think straight.

Two Beds Are Better Than One
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Mike_Catherall]Mike Catherall
A research team at the University of Victoria is looking for committed couples that live apart. This non-traditional relationship is becoming a popular choice in modern times. Opposite and same-sex couples are being recruited for the program, which will last a minimum of five years. Sociology researchers are studying this trend in the hopes of explaining why and how these relationships come about.
The lead researchers are Dr. Karen Kobayashi and Dr. Laura Funk. The researchers say they are interested in the experiences of couples who are "living apart together", why couples choose this type of relationship, and what challenges and benefits are associated with them. Their research began in May 2011, through UVic's Centre on Aging and Department of Sociology. The title of the project is "Loving the Distance Between: Living Apart Together Relationships."
The research is partially prompted by a Statistics Canada survey done in 2001. The survey found that eight percent of Canadians age 20 and older were in a committed LAT relationship. These relationships allow the parters to retain a degree of independence, as well as their own personal space, while enjoying the comfort and other benefits of a committed relationship. Some couples find they experience more happiness when they can keep their bank accounts and dirty laundry separate. Living apart gives them time to get to know each other, without the high stakes of a live-in arrangement.
To participate in the research study, volunteers must be 25 or older and have been in their current relationship for at least five years. The participants also have to live apart from each other. This can mean living in the same apartment building, but in different units, or in separate cities, across the country. The relationships need to be long-term and committed.
The trend toward relationships in which the two partners live separately represents a major shift from the traditional partnership, which usually involves moving in together as a sign of serious commitment. Some researchers believe the trend suggests a societal change in values. Kobayashi and Funk hope to uncover the effects of this change in their study.
On a materialistic level, LAT relationships require the two parties to pay individual rent and own separate furniture. Couples are required, by the parameters of their relationship, to own two separate rel=nofollow [http://www.simmonsmattressgallery.ca]mattresses, pay two sets of bills and spend money on travel to see each other. Another interesting research study might look at how this economic situation might impact society as a whole.
Additionally, it's unclear how being in an LAT relationship affects other aspects of life, such as sleep, intimacy, and trust between the partners. The hope is that the study going on at the University of Victoria and other future studies will shed some light on these and other issues.

What Is Considered Long Distance in a Long Distance Relationship?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Lynly_Pioc]Lynly Pioc
So many of us have gone on and on about having troubles with distance. We hear people say that they do not want to be apart from their loved ones because there is that notion that when you are going to be apart, it is eventually going to end up in a fall out. But when we use the term long distance, how far apart would that be?
I have had friends asking me how far is far apart. Before I answer them, I laugh silently because it is actually a subjective kind of thing. Someone's idea of being in a long distance relationship could mean being a few blocks away from his or her loved one, while there may be others who would say that being in opposites sides of the earth would be considered as long distance. I guess most of us are surely going to agree on the latter, but the former is already considered to be distant, too.
If you were to ask me, I would practically answer you with an "It depends on you" and that would sincerely be my best answer. I mean, seriously, as I told you, it's going to need a subjective answer. It's the same thing as asking a girl what her ideal man is like. The keyword is ideal, and almost every positive trait in a guy pops into our heads. However, not every girl yearns for a Mr. Perfect. Girls have that "perfect" guy in their heads, but that's going to be someone who would complement them (probably). Ideal is somewhat like an idea only, so that would definitely vary from one person to another.
In my point of view, we all have been in a long distance relationship, in one way or another. You may have had that camping trip that you had to go to back in the summer, and you had no way of seeing your significant other. You may have had to live off on phone calls at night because you really have that need to talk to your boyfriend or girlfriend at least once a day. Or, you may have gone abroad for a vacation and all you can do is go on Skype to talk with your other half. Maybe you even went to two different colleges and you only had the summers to be together. The list can go on and on, surely you've had those "long distance moments".
Long distance relationships aren't exactly bad for couples. A thing is only going to be bad if you go and try to bring out the worst in one another, whether on purpose or not. Distance can actually be overcome. It's just a matter of willpower.

Article Source: [http://EzineArticles.com/?What-Is-Considered-Long-Distance-in-a-Long-Distance-Relationship?&id=6588041] What Is Considered Long Distance in a Long Distance Relationship?

The Upside and Downside of Being Apart in a Relationship
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Bellaisa_Filippis]Bellaisa Filippis
Recently my husband got hired at a job that is about an hour and a half away from our home. He is getting all of his gas, hotel, and food expenses covered on his work days, so we decided it just makes sense not to drive the 3 hours everyday to work and home. This was supposed to be a fun thing for us because I work from home and could go with him, but it turned out that our oldest dog has increased her incontinence and is not able to stay at the hotel or her 'grandparents' to be babysat. So I have to stay with her.
At first I was jealous. Believe it or not we enjoy staying in hotels for long stretches. We have quite a large house but both of us our more comfortable in apartment sized places. We enjoy room service, free breakfast, and all the other perks of hotels. We also normally stay in hotels that have gyms that make our downstairs treadmill jealous. But after getting over my jealousy I realized a few other things.
The Upside of Being Apart
There really is some positives to being apart. One such positive is being aware about how much we mean to each other. We never really thought about the comfort and happiness that being together every day brings us. We enjoy each others company and we get excited about our evening together watching TV, playing games, or just talking, but we don't really appreciate it. When we realized we would have to be apart for a few days a week we suddenly missed it and each other.
I relate this to the feeling we had when we were dating. We didn't get to be together every day during that period and we were always excited for our dates or our nights together. I think this excitement is one of the things that creates the desire, or 'need', to be together all the time, and ultimately it is what causes two people to move in together to conquer that need.
So now when we get to be together we appreciate our time together about 500 percent more! Our kisses feel more real, our hugs more bonding, and - well, I'll leave the rest to your imagination! The point is that we appreciate each other much more than we did then we were together all the time and I hope that appreciation lasts long after we get to be together every day again.
The Downside of Being Apart
For us there are a few reasons that we don't enjoy being apart. We are not the type of couple that enjoys distance in our relationship and this would never turn out to be a long term situation. In fact, it probably won't last past a few months.
A few of the negatives of being apart are:
Sleeping Alone - This is a downside when you are used to being cuddled and having someone else's energy there beside you. Plus I'm scared very easily and I find that many nights I have to leave the night-light on even though I have two little dogs sleeping with me.
A Sense of Not Being as Close in The Relationship - For us, feeling really close to each other means being close to each other, not over the phone or Skype but in person - face to face. Many people can be in a committed relationship and feel close but not have to see each other all the time; but we are definitely not those people.
No Instant Date Nights - Like I said we love our time together and because we have no kids so we can easily decide to go out for supper or a movie or even a walk. Now, we don't have the luxury of hanging out together that easily.
So our time apart is not the worst thing in the world as it gives us a new appreciation of each other when we are together, but in the end it would never work out long-term because we wouldn't feel like we were in an intimate relationship if we were constantly apart. By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Robyn_L.]Robyn L.
Sustaining a long distance relationship is hard enough, it is even harder if you are plagued by concerns such as trust and insecurity. Things are usually easier said than done. To keep the love burning and for you to feel more secure you may feel the necessity to check up on each other more often than normal. But incessant checking can be stifling for your partner, and a long distance relationship will end because of distrust. Here are some dangers that you should pay attention to in a long distance relationship:
1. Communication obstacles. Today's technology is a marvelous thing, and can very much help by assisting you to stay in touch with your partner, although mishaps can still occur with late email or text replies, or missed phone calls.
2. Jealousy. Him mentioning other girls who are friends or co-employees can make you start doubting and leave you feeling anxious whenever he fails to call or send you a message.
3. Constant nagging and arguing. This occurs whenever he falls short of his promises or fails to call you. Don't be enticed to provoke your partner by controlling him or restricting his freedom, it will not improve the status of your relationship.
But concerns can always be repaired, even in a long distance relationship. Listed are 4 approaches that can direct you in repairing your condition:
1. Have an effective communication channel. When you are in a long distance relationship, it is essential that you have an effective communication scheme. There are loads of ways that you can communicate with each other, such as phone calls and video calls. Do not allow for the thought of distance to scare you. Determine and establish the communication methods that work for you both.
2. Arrange your meetings. Meeting with each other can be quite hard especially if you're both busy with work. Plan a fixed meeting schedule. Ascertain that both parties are agreeable to the schedule and promise to follow it.
3. Organize some periodic surprises. It's sweet and romantic to give your partner simple tokens or gifts to show your care, whether there's something to observe or not. You will also add zest your relationship this way. Surprising your partner makes your relationship less dull.
4. Cherish and share special moments. These days it is not hard to capture interesting moments by means of sharing photos, audio recording and many others. These can suffice as your online diary that will keep your partner updated of the major events in your life.
It all takes some endeavour and trust in each other for long distance relationship to succeed. Everything is feasible if there is love and a strong plan for the relationship to succeed.

Long Distance Relationship Break Up Tips
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Daniel_Ovieda]Daniel Ovieda
Long distance relationships can be very difficult and breaking up with your long distance partner can be heart breaking. Sometimes the relationship can endure its hardships and grow stronger but other times it breaks under the pressure. When the relationship becomes constantly stressing it may time to break up. There are several things to keep in mind before breaking up with your partner. Here are a few tips when breaking up long distance:
Think it through. Before putting both of you through the break up, think before you act. Is the relationship beyond repair? Is this what I really want? Have I tried my best in making the relationship work? Once you have asked yourself a few questions and the break up seems inevitable you should continue with the break up. If you have doubts, talk with your partner about it and you may be able to come to another conclusion.
Be Honest. There's nothing worse than being told the old, "It's not you it's me." Do not use any break up lines you have heard from a movie or friends. Tell him or her the truth about why exactly you are breaking up with them so they can have an understanding of why. The person who you are breaking up with will appreciate the honesty even if they may seem angry in the beginning.
Get The Other Side of The Story. Allow your long distance partner to explain themselves and how they feel. As I've talked about before in my communication articles, communication is a two way street. Not only talk with your partner but listen as well. There may be a halfway point that you both can meet at for a chance to still be together. This may possibly make the break up less painful for both of you.
Expect Broken Hearts. Whether the break up is mutual or not, you can expect that the person you are breaking up with is going to hurt and be emotional. Expect not just heartbreak either - expect anger, frustration, confusion, resentment, or blame as well. These types of emotion are bound to occur; especially when you have been in the relationship for a long period of time.
A Phone Call Will Suffice. In most long distance break up cases, a phone call will be a sufficient form of communication when breaking up. Do not fly or drive to go see your long distance partner to break up with them, especially if they have no idea that you plan to break up with them. The only circumstance where I would recommend this is if the break up is mutual and you need to pick up personal items from the other person or drop off their items.
Breaking up is hard to do but in many cases it is a healthy decision for both individuals involved in the relationship. How to Trust Your Partner in a Long Distance Relationship
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Lynly_Pioc]Lynly Pioc
Trusting someone is not an easy task, although there may be some of us who develop that sense of trust in anyone they meet. It may be kind of unusual as most people only tend to trust someone who they know has proven their worth. In short, getting the trust of someone needs work.
When we get into a relationship, we must develop that trust so that both our partners and ourselves are going to have that peace of mind. Imagine not trusting your partner and having to think different unfaithful thoughts. That would really create a big gap in the relationship which would eventually lead to the end of it, and we do not want that. Once we're in a relationship, we should learn to trust our significant other.
But how then are you going to trust someone who is several miles away from you?
Before you get into a relationship, make sure that you know your partner, if not fully well, then at least know the basic things about them. The feeling of knowing who you are in a relationship with will heighten the sense of satisfaction we will be having in the relationship. Without it, our minds will be clouded by doubts and what ifs. Say for example, you got into a relationship with a complete stranger. That is going to be a difficult one but try to communicate daily so you would know small things about him or her. In the process, you are going to gain one another's trust.
In case of the presence of distance, work twice as hard as you normally would in a short distance relationship. Avoid making excuses that the distance was a hindrance. You've got a lot of communication options to choose from. Get to know them every day, share private moments together as often as you could. Slowly build that trust because trust is the foundation of a strong relationship.
Always keep in mind that a person's trust should not be broken because once it is, it would be very difficult to put back. Even if you are at a distance, do everything you can to assure your loved one that you are not doing anything stupid as cheating on your partner. Some people may say that it is impossible not to cheat and flirt around when you're apart, but it all depends on what kind of a person you are. Control yourself and be patient. Patience goes a long way like trust.
Some [http://www.longdistancerelationshipsadvice.net]long distance relationships work out the way they are in fairy tales because both the man and the woman are working hard on it. Three Methods To Make A Long Distance Relationship Last
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Robyn_L.]Robyn L.
It is not simple to keep a long distance relationship as you need to establish trust for this relationship to work but in a world where temptations are hard to reject, are love and trust sufficient to keep the relationship secure? It's difficult enough to work on a long distance relationship if you're not ready to face the troubles ahead. Underneath are 3 main concerns a long distance relationship goes through and things to do to work them out.
Telling lies can become a habit in long distance relationships.
It is easy to lie when you are far from each other and the only way that connects both of you is either a phone call or an email message. Even breaking promises is a variety of lying. Make a pledge to be truthful with your mate. This will be difficult and you might err at times but if you have a commitment to honesty it will be less likely to lie deliberately.
Trust matters.
Putting faith in your partner being far away is simple to do. In a long distance relationship, it is sometimes hard to trust your partner. Admitting that you have control over your partner's movements will make it a little bit less difficult. If you determined that your relationship was strong enough for a long distance relationship you need to have faith that your partner will do the honorable thing by you. It doesn't mean that you have to bear being maltreated or being cheated on. It just means that if you do suspect something that you bring it up to them in a calm conversation instead of assuming that they are liable automatically.
Misconceptions and disagreements.
Uncertainties often sink in when you are away from each other. You often fail to see the value of your relationship and of each other. You or your partner may at times have difficulty contacting or calling each other, which makes it a tricky situation when the other starts to imagine something else entirely. That's why it is important that you and your partner have an open communication where every worry you both have about your relationship can be discussed. Keeping things in will not help, it will only worsen the situation and soon you will want to end the relationship because a lot of little things have accumulated.
It is important to make time to air out any concerns or problems to resolve, time for serious discussion without apprehension that your partner will get angry or judge you. Ultimately it will be up to you to create the sort of long distance relationship you want. Every long distance relationship is different, it's up to you and your partner to establish the way you want your relationship to operate.

Make Long Distance Relationship Work - Six Pointers to Conquer Distance
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Michelle_R._Evans]Michelle R. Evans
A lot of couples out there find themselves in a long distance relationship. Some find themselves in this situation because their partner must go somewhere far to work or study. For whatever reasons, individuals who are in this kind of relationship always find themselves in an anxious state. They keep on wondering if it's going to last or not. If you belong to this group, here are a number of ways to make long distance relationship work.
Be independent.
Now that your partner is miles away from you, stop worrying and start living. Just consider this as an opportunity to get closer with each other by making the most of where you live. Appreciate your place, hang out with your neighbors and share to him/her your valuable experience. Your independence doesn't mean you can live without each other. It's just one way of making yourself and your relationship stronger.
Be creative.
Your distance gives you a chance to think about your partner as a person - what he likes, what he needs and what he wishes. If he/she is the romantic type, why don't you make personalized cards or poems? If he/she is into art, visit a museum and share what kind of art you liked. If he/she collects postcards from different places, send one every week.
Be faithful.
To make long distance relationship work, you must live the value of loyalty. When you're away from each other, the baits come in different forms and the temptation to wander away is very strong. Don't let this ruin your relationship and ruin yourself. If you entertain distractions, you'll carry this guilt for the rest of your life.
Get a fast Internet connection.
This will make things easier for you. Ease your nostalgia by buying a camera and a headset so you can talk like you're beside each other. Upload your recent photos through a social networking site or an online album and share it to him/her. Tell your partner how much you wanted to share that moment with him/her.
Let music intrude.
Music was invented to help a person express what he/she feels. So send your partner an MP3 file of the song you're currently listening to let him/her grasp how you're feeling that day. If you don't have that file, a music video link can be an option. If you have limited access to Internet, burn the songs in a CD and send it to him/her through mail.
Schedule your next meeting.
It always feels good to look forward to something - the next date, the next hug, the next kiss. If you can meet regularly, do it. If you can take turns in traveling, that would be a better set-up. In some cases, it will take months or years to wait. If you're about to give up, just remember that everything shall pass, including the agony of not seeing your partner for a long time.
The answer to the question, "How do you make long distance relationship work?" can be summarized in one effective clich: you are under the same sky. Cheesy as it may sound, that line will make you realize it's not proximity that matters. What's more important is how you love and how you make your partner feel loved.

Long distance relationships (LDR) work because of the time and effort put into them. With these two elements coupled with a healthy dose of commitment, you can make your relationship work too! Take a look at 7 tips to make your long distance relationships work:
Tip 1 - There is no excuse for not keeping in touch. Contact with your sweetie can provide reassurance that your LDR is intact. Pretend you're in Kalamazoo and your girlfriend is in Wichita. When you first hooked up you talked to each other all the time. You both knew what each others day-to-day life was like. Now it's two months later and you haven't heard from her in a week; your calls are going straight to voicemail. What's going on? Is she hurt, does she still like you, has she met someone new? The unknown is a powerful beast that can severely damage a relationship, so do what you must to keep in touch.
Tip 2 - Have long distance relationship, will travel. Visit your LDR love as much as reasonably possible. Scheduling time to spend together is another way to reinforce your commitment to the relationship. Set a goal to try to make it happen about every 6 weeks. The key is that you're both willing and wanting to make the sacrifice of time and money to see each other. It makes a bold statement about how important the relationship is...and it gives both of you something to look forward to!
Tip 3 - You don't have to be there to get there! Who says you have to be in the same room to make the lovin' happen? Use this time to be creative with your intimacy. Web cams, cell phones, the Internet, and the like can all be handy tools to create some really exciting intimate moments with your LDR lover. *Disclaimer: Remember to BE WISE AND BE CAREFUL!
