Can you ever imagine being separated from the person you love the most in the world? Could you stand being away from them for a week or two? Do you and your partner have that strong sense of trust for each other even if you don't seen one another that frequently? If you answered yes to most of these questions, then you may probably be ready to be in a long distance relationship. If you have some "no" answers, you might want to do a double take before you get into that kind of relationship.
Some people make it look so easy to be in a long distance relationship. They may appear that they have all the time in the world for themselves and for their wants because their significant other is not around but then again, some people are just got actors. Or, they just know how to deal with such relationships. Not everyone knows that little secret. Lucky are those who were let in on that secret.
Not many people who jump into distance relationships realize what they're getting into. Sometimes, they're just in it for the ride and not for the possible barfing sessions that come after. Most people who are (or have been) in these kinds of relationships know its ups and downs. They may convince their friends and their family that being in a long distance relationship is easy when it's not.
Before you put your heart on the line, especially on a very long line like in long distance relationships, you should try weighing things out. Don't go jumping head first without looking. Let us go back to the questions mentioned above. First of all, consider the fact that this relationship deals with the distance. If you cannot imagine yourself being away from him or her, might as well not take the risk of getting into this kind of relationship.
Moving on to the next question. If you are a person who cannot stand being away from the one they love for a week or two weeks at most, then you are seriously not going to like being in a long distance relationship. Probably the minimum number of days that people in these relationships are going to spend apart is a month. But this will totally be on a case to case basis. Bottom line is, you're probably going to break before the month ends.
Also, if you and your partner are two people who do not have enough trust in each other, then forget being in a long distance relationship. You both are just going to torture yourselves with all the paranoia.
If you think you can't stand being in this similar situation for so long, by all means, don't force yourself to be in one. It would be best for the both of you if didn't get into one in the first place. LDRs are difficult. If you plan to be in one, you have to have a strong will and determination to see it through until the end.
